Jazz is one of the only uniquely American forms of music, and it's a vital part of a musician's training. The Dewey High School Jazz Band is available to high school band students grades 9 - 12 (based on director's approval). They meet every day during 2nd hour and explore all forms of jazz music from swing to rock and Latin. This page will have important information for all jazz students at Dewey, including syllabi, itineraries, and listening lists.
